Marissa has a BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts and has been making body based work in dance, film, performance and installation. Her stage works have been presented at On the Boards, Seattle Art Museum, Velocity Dance Center, Henry Art Gallery, The Hedreen Gallery at Seattle University and Annex Theater in Seattle, WA and at Urban Grace, SOTA and The Annie Wright School in Tacoma, WA. In 2010 she mounted a series of performance installations during a two month residency at Project: Space Available and was a 2009 Flight Deck Resident at Open Flight Studio in Seattle, WA. She has created short dance films that have played in France, Italy, Chile, Brazil, Portugal and Japan as well as in the US in Seattle, Boston and North Carolina. Support has been granted by The Seattle Mayor's Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs, 4 Culture, Artist Trust, Northwest Film Forum, Cornish College of the Arts and Shunpike as well as private donors. She has recently relocated to Brooklyn, NY.
